Omega Centauri is the largest globular cluster in the Milky Way galaxy. There are an estimated 10 million stars in this star cluster. Sir Edmund Halley discovered this cluster in 1677 but it was noted in about 150 AD by Ptolmey. It is located in the constellation of Centaurus approximately 1600 light years from earth.
