The Trifid Nebula

Messier 20, also known as the Trifid Nebula is located in the constellation Sagittarius. Charles Messier discovered this nebula in 1764. The Trifid Nebula was heavily investigated by the HST in 1997. It is a region of emission and reflection nebula and is thought to be a stellar nursery by professional astronomers.
