This object is commonly referred to as the Cone Nebula by astronomers. The cone is clearly visible near the top portion of the entire nebula complex. This nebula is located in the constellation of Monoceros. It is roughly 2600 light-years from Earth. The image was taken using the Astro-Physics AP160EDF refractor in January 2009.
