The Crescent Nebula
NGC 6888

The Crescent Nebula is located in the constellation of Cygnus. This emission nebula was formed by the stellar winds associated with it's massive Wolf-Rayet central star. Wolf-Rayet stars are very hot, very massive stars with a high rate of mass loss. This image is in Hydrogen Alpha. There is an interesting feature to the lower right of the Crescent nebula.
